Get started with accessibility features on Mac.
Open "preferences" and click "accessibility".
Vision
- VoiceOver – from any application, use Command key + F5 to turn on and off
- Hear what's on your screen
- Control your computer with your keyboard
- Zoom (not the online meeting tool) – zoom in with Option + Command + =, zoom out with Option + Command + -
- Display – customize the brightness and colors of the display and customize the mouse pointer
- Spoken Content – alerts, dialog boxes and selected text spoken out loud
- Descriptions – turn on available audio descriptions
Hearing
- Audio – choose alert sounds and volume; make the screen flash along with the alert
- Captions can be enabled and customized
Motor
- Voice Control – edit text and interact with your computer using your voice
- Keyboard – with Full Keyboard Access you can interact with anything on your screen and navigate without a mouse
- Pointer Control – move the mouse pointer on your screen using the keyboard
- Switch Control – use a switch or a joystick to interact with and navigate your computer
General
- Siri can be directed by your voice or text
- Shortcut – create your own keyboard shortcuts for commands you use often
