Students who have been asked to complete the Affidavit of Intent to Apply for Residence (PDF) should submit the completed form to the Office of Registration and Records. Forms may be emailed to residency@niu.edu.
If you are unsure whether you qualify for resident tuition under the Board of Trustees residency regulations, contact the Office of Registration and Records at residency@niu.edu.
Per Board of Trustees residency regulations, the university shall determine the residency status of each student for the purpose of establishing whether the student should be assessed domestic (in-state and out-of-state) or international tuition. The decision for each student is based on the information submitted to the university at the time of application for admission.
