The Center for Non-Governmental Organization Leadership and Development (NGOLD) was established in 2010 as Northern Illinois University’s resource for excellence in the study, research, and practice of nongovernmental organizations.
NGOLD offers an exciting interdisciplinary Community Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) undergraduate major for NIU students and a certificate program that allows students in other majors to gain specialization in civic engagement. The Center also carries out research and assists faculty and scholars that are investigating nongovernmental organizations. NGOLD features a variety of programs and services targeted to nonprofits in the northern Illinois region, and beyond, to help promote knowledge sharing and skill development. Finally, both students and nonprofit organizations benefit from NGOLD’s service-learning, internship, and volunteer coordination.
Welcome to NGOLD.
Nonprofit Tech Conference
NIU's Nonprofit Technology Conference, sponsored by NGOLD, was a success! Coordinated by students in CLCE 350, this conference allowed nonprofit professionals to learn about the latest trends in social media, mobile applications, software, and other technologies that can benefit their operations.
