Sue Kanthak

Sue Kanthak is an experienced leader who has dedicated more than 25 years to work focused on youth development, community development and homelessness. Sue recently retired from her 15-year tenure as executive director of Jeremiah Development, a nonprofit serving the Coronado-Haskell neighborhood in downtown Rockford, where she focused her passion for making the world a better place for our children.

Sue holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Rockford University and earned her certificate in nonprofit management from NICNE. Her professional development has focused on team building, crisis intervention, wraparound services facilitation, coaching and fostering workplace diversity. Sue has a long service-oriented career and previously spent 12 years working for Rockford Public School District 205 where she helped Rockford Public Schools District 205 start their homeless program. She is an active volunteer in our community and has served on the Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness and served on the Statewide Advisory Council for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth, the Illinois Coalition to End Homelessness board and the Mayor's Blueprint for Rockford Task Force.
