Dining will be an important part of your NIU experience, so we want to make it pleasurable and easy to manage. We'll help you optimize your overall experience and guide you in your meal plan selection. We’ll tell you all about your many options for dining on campus and off campus, where they’re located and if they accept Huskie Bucks or Dining Dollars.
We'll even help you make informed meal-planning decisions by providing nutritional and allergen information for the food we serve in our all-you-care-to-eat dining centers.

Exciting Fall 2025 Meal Plan Updates and News:
Beginning this fall semester, students with a dining plan will notice several positive changes to campus dining options. Campus Dining Services has introduced a few changes that will benefit most Huskies.
- Residential meal plans increased semester Dining Dollars to $175.
- Extended hours at Neptune Dining, now closing at 8 pm.
- Late-night express window at Stevenson Retail Dining Monday - Thursday, 8:30-11 pm.
- Gilbert East Side Café will offer late-night service Monday - Thursday, coming soon.
- Discounted entrees at QDOBA after 7 pm Monday - Thursday.
- Meal Exchange now includes Stevenson Retail Dining, Gilbert East Side Café, Depot C-store, and Einstein Bros. Bagels; meal exchange hours vary by location.
- QDOBA and Grill at Huskie Den will no longer offer Meal Exchange.
