Update to PSC Services: We are currently accepting both adult and child therapy clients in the PSC. We’ve also reopened our assessment waitlist, and the estimated time for an assessment in our clinic is six to nine months. If you are interested in therapy or assessment, please email our office at psc@niu.edu or call us at 815-753-0591.

New Clients
Please see the banner at the top of this page for the updated status of our caseload. If you're interested in our services and we have openings, please email us at psc@niu.edu or call us at 815-753-0591.
We begin with a brief phone call to get more information about why you’re seeking services, some basic demographic information, and to tell you a bit about our clinic. If we are a good fit, then we will set up an initial problem assessment or intake appointment during that phone call.
To learn more about our procedures and operations, please read our Information for Clients. We look forward to working with you.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, or worried about someone close to you, please call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department and ask to speak to the psychiatrist on call. As an alternative to the emergency room, the Ben Gordon center also hosts a Living Room, a 24/7 space where no appointment is needed to walk in and peer recovery support specialists can assist you at no cost.
