Professional Development Schools (PDS)

NIU is expanding its most successful teacher preparation model — professional development schools (PDS). These partnerships result in higher student achievement in the schools and better preparation for teacher candidates graduating from NIU.

PDS sites give NIU candidates and faculty an enhanced set of clinical experiences. Students are guided through new ways of connecting with classrooms and teachers, observations, and greater exposure to school faculty who also participate in our clinical seminars.
