Jerry Lowrey (instructor) has a bachelor's degree in music education from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University and is completing his master's degree in educational leadership at Northeastern Illinois University. He began his career as a professional music producer and recording engineer for Duniya, Universal, and SoundLab Studios in Atlanta Georgia. He studied saxophone performance with Steve Duke and Jan Berry Baker, pedagogy and education with Ron Carter and Cheryl Frazes Hill, and conducting with Steve Squires. He is currently the Director of Bands in La Grange School District 105. His program consists of three concert bands, beginner jazz band, jazz ensemble, and percussion ensemble. He has also been a member of the Band Directors Academy for Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City for three years. He is an active member in the professional community as a saxophonist, mentor and clinician.
