About World Languages and Cultures
Studying a foreign language prepares students for dynamic careers in areas such as translation, business, tourism, banking, education and service industries. We offer an undergraduate major in World Languages and Cultures with an emphasis in French, Francophone Studies, German Studies and Spanish and Hispanic Studies and minors in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Translation for Global Literacy.
Our highly engaged and well-published faculty work closely with students not only in teaching but also in research through programs such as the Student Engagement Fund or the Undergraduate Special Opportunities in Artistry and Research Program.
We offer an M.A. in Spanish and Hispanic Studies and graduate certificates with options in French and Francophone Studies, German Studies and Spanish and Hispanic Studies and Foreign Langage Instructional Technology. Recently, we entered into a partnership with the College of Law to offer an accelerated law degree.
