  • On Wednesday, Oct. 9, the NIU Board of Trustees authorized the university to move forward in pursuit of financing to implement a comprehensive energy-saving and carbon-emissions-reduction program on campus (page 3 item 6a). Campus upgrades would be funded through a combination of federal, state, utility, energy and operational savings.
  • On Thursday, Aug. 22, the NIU Board of Trustees approved the initial phase of a contract that ultimately would be aimed at implementation of a comprehensive energy-saving and carbon-emissions-reduction program on campus. The action ensured campus improvements would remain eligible for applicable federal and state incentives.

Huskie Spotlight

I've had many students analyze samples from Antarctica and around the world to study climate change over time. Many students, undergraduate as well as graduate, have presented their research at international and national conferences. My students have had the opportunity to travel the world, touching all seven continents!
