Cognitive Processing Therapy Group for Female Sexual Assault Survivors

Following a sexual assault, it is common to experience a variety of posttraumatic symptoms. Symptoms of PTSD include flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive thoughts about the trauma; negative beliefs about oneself, others, or the world; feeling detached form others; feeling down, irritable or angry; being on-edge; and having trouble sleeping and concentrating. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you may benefit from joining a group based on Cognitive Processing Therapy, a gold-standard treatment for sexual trauma.

Our 12-week group meets on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Still accepting new group members. The group is free for NIU students and available for only $60 total for community members. Call 815-753-0591 today to schedule your confidential intake with a trained clinician to see if this group is a good fit for you.

If you are a female survivor of sexual assault and struggling with the aftermath of the trauma, you are not alone. We are here to help. Call us today.
