About the Program

If you currently work for a local government in the U.S., our Certificate of Graduate Study in Public Management can help you advance your career. This program is ideal for you if you hold a management position in an area such as public safety, public works, finance, budgeting, parks and recreation, or housing.

Taught by internationally recognized faculty, the courses in the program focus on local government and are offered in an executive eight-week format. The credits you earn pursuing the graduate certificate will apply to the NIU M.P.A. program, which ranks fourth in the country in local government and 15th in budgeting and finance.
