About the Program

As a practicing health or human services professional, you know more education can provide greater opportunities. The online NIU B.S. in Health Sciences Degree Completion Program is designed to take you to that next level. If you completed an applied associate degree and hold a current professional credential or license in the health or human services field of your degree, you are eligible for this program.

It’s a perfect fit for dental hygienists, respiratory therapists, radiological technologists, physical therapy assistants, occupational therapy assistants, EMTs and other professionals working in health and human services. The coursework in this degree completion program will prepare you for health care leadership roles with courses in management, financial principals and standards to improve patient care.

Program Mode of Delivery

This program is delivered 100 percent online but does have some community college prerequisite requirements.


Your NIU online curriculum will cover topics that are relevant to your job such as disability in society, resource allocation in health and human sciences, working with diverse populations, and legal and ethical issues in health and human sciences. You will complete a capstone project to demonstrate your knowledge in the health sciences area of study.
