Latinos are the largest minority group in the United States and the fastest growing segment of the population. Their votes can determine the outcome of important elections, Spanish is the second language in many regions, Latino culture is ingrained in U.S. culture, and the history and future of the Americas are intertwined through trade, politics and immigration. Students graduating with a minor in Latino and Latin American Studies or a graduate certificate in Latin American Studies will benefit by becoming informed citizens and will have an advantage in finding jobs in a variety of fields.

Here in CLLAS, we offer a minor in Latino and Latin American Studies, a graduate certificate in Latin American Studies, research grants for faculty associates and graduate students, undergraduate scholarships, a speaker series, cultural programming and outreach activities.
