Supporting Programs

By giving to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, you are investing in the intellectual heart of NIU. We rely on the generosity of alumni, parents and friends to continue the tradition of providing a solid liberal arts education to our students.

Your support impacts many areas, including:

• Scholarships – Your support funds scholarships that can be either merit-based or need-based, both which make a difference in the lives of students.
• Student engagement and research – Your support provides opportunities for undergraduate research, service learning, Study Abroad and travel to conferences through the Student Engagement Fund, a collaborative project between the College and the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning. Support is also appreciated in the areas of research and travel for graduate students.
• Program support – Donors can direct their gift to support a specific academic program, which could allow for instructional growth, visiting scholars or lecture series or specialized equipment.
