Rhiannon is currently a Ph.D. student in English. She has earned a Master’s degree in British and American Literature and graduate certification in Women’s Studies and LGBT Studies. She has presented at several academic conferences on topics ranging from diversity in education to feminism in literature. She is currently teaching first year composition and co-chairing the annual Midwestern Conference on Literature, Language, and Media in addition to her duties in Women’s Studies. Before coming to NIU, she spent three years in the trenches teaching eighth grade Language Arts, sponsoring the school’s first student-driven gay/straight alliance. Her interests include LGBT issues in education, the evolution of queer life narratives, and chocolate. Rhiannon is excited to be part of Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies and support its goals of improving the status of women and sharing of feminist knowledge inside and outside of the classroom.
