CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER: 50 Years After the Feminine Mystique: How Far Have We Come?

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Betty Friedan's The Feminine Mystique, Stephanie Coontz will present a public lecture on the history of the "feminine mystique" and the impact that "new mystiques" have on women and men in contemporary society. Specifically, she will examine the varying challenges that women from different races and classes faced in the early 1960's, as well as "new mystiques" that women face today.
