Academic Reinstatement Committees

  1. Each College Reinstatement Committee, other than in the College of Law, shall be composed of representatives from the faculty, the Student Advisory Committee or students appointed by the Student Advisory Committee, and the college administrative office, as determined in each college by the College Council. The College of Law Reinstatement Committee shall be composed of members of the faculty of the College of Law. The Graduate School Reinstatement Committee shall be composed of representatives from the graduate faculty, the graduate student membership of the Graduate Council or graduate students appointed by that membership, and the Graduate School administrative office, as determined by the Graduate Council.

  2. The duties of a College Reinstatement Committee shall be to review and recommend that the dean grant or deny petitions for reinstatement of undergraduate or law students who have been dismissed from the university for scholastic reasons and who subsequently have petitioned for reinstatement. The duties of the Graduate School Reinstatement Committee shall be the same, as applied to graduate students and students-at-large.

  3. The Admissions Policies and Academic Standards Committee shall be responsible for coordinating the procedures of the undergraduate College Reinstatement Committees. Those committees shall annually report their procedures and actions to the Admissions Policies and Academic Standards Committee. The Reinstatement Committees for the College of Law and for the Graduate School shall be similarly responsible to the faculty of the College of Law and to the Graduate School, respectively.
