What is the NPHC Yard Project?

The National Pan-Hellenic Council Yard Project began in 2007 by the members of the NPHC organizations' at that time.  They wanted a part of campus that that they could call their own.  These students envisioned a spot where current members, alumni, and future members can gather for events such as homecoming, step shows, and neophyte shows. Once completed, the yard will be a place for all NPHC members to call home.

Where is the Yard Project?

The Yard is located on the north side of Stevenson C tower and next to the Larusso Lagoon.

What has been completed on the Yard?

Currently the foundation of the project has been built. The back wall has been completed.  The plot dividers have been laid, as well as the performance stage.

What still needs to be done?

We are ordering the benches for each organization as well as their plaques and boulders.  These will be placed on each organizations plot.  Additionally, we are ordering plaques that feature the history of the organization and NPHC as a whole that will be mounted to the wall.  The last thing that is still in progress is our brick campaign.  Here is where you can leave your legacy!

How can you help leave a Legacy?

The plots will be bricked over to create a consistent patio for each organization.  These bricks are able to be engraved with up to four lines of sixteen characters.  Purchase a brick today, and leave your legacy at NIU for the next generation of NPHC brothers or sisters!
