Graduate Assistantship Interview Day
for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management
at Northern Illinois University

GA Interview Day is for graduate students who are seeking:

  • M.S.Ed. in Counseling & Adult and Higher Education (CAHE) and
  • Graduate Assistantships in the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management

GA Interview Day welcomes graduate students who are currently enrolled in the CAHE program and are seeking an assistantship in the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management (SAEM), as well as current Graduate Assistants in SAEM who are seeking a different assistantship in SAEM for the 2015-16 academic year.

GSARP Weekend welcomes incoming graduate students who will be new to the CAHE program in fall 2015 and are seeking an assistantship in the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.

GA Interview Day:  Tuesday, March 3, 2015
8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Campus Life Building, Room 100

The Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and the Counseling, Adult & Higher Education (CAHE) graduate program are hosting a Graduate Assistantship Interview Day for graduate students who are currently enrolled in the CAHE program and are seeking an assistantship in the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management, as well as for current Graduate Assistants in SAEM who are seeking a different assistantship within SAEM for the 2015-16 academic year.

Participants in the GA Interview Day will have opportunities to interview for up to eight assistantship positions in Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.  While there is no limit on the number of assistantships for which applicants may request interviews, demand that an assistantship generates will dictate offering departments' ability to grant interviews. The list of Graduate Assistantships that are available in SAEM for the 2015-16 academic year will continue to be updated until all positions are filled.

Registration for the GA Interview Day is free.  Once registered, candidates will request interviews via the Huskies Get Hired system, housed in Career Services.  (This is the same system that will be used for GSARP Weekend.)  Prior to requesting interviews, candidates will be required to complete the Huskies Get Hired tutorial.  After the tutorial is complete, candidates will be able to login to register with Huskies Get Hired by using their ZID for the username (click "Forgot your password?" to receive a password for the first time.)

Once registered, candidates will be asked to create a profile, which includes uploading a resume, cover letter, and references.  Candidates should also upload their resumes to the GSARP/GA Day Resume Book so that employers in Student Affairs & Enrollment Management can easily search for them.  Candidates will then be able to search and apply for positions within Student Affairs & Enrollment Management.  All SAEM positions will begin with “GA Day,” followed by the position title.
