Destination Imagination Tournament, April 13, 2013
The Division of Outreach, Engagement and Information Technologies is hosting a Destination Imagination tournament for the second year on NIU’s campus on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Destination Imagination develops, designs, and facilitates events for kids to experience the creative process, develop new friendships and learn to work together. DI teaches critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, and a whole host of other skills that help students perform well in the classroom. During the tournament, student teams compete in the following categories: technical, science, fine arts, improvisational, structural, science learning, early learning and instant challenge.
To host this event, STEM Outreach could use 75 volunteers from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and 75 student volunteers from 11:45 to 5:00 p.m. Earn your service hours by directing families to buildings on campus, running scores to another building, hanging a banner, working at a registration desk… Interested volunteers should sign-up here by filling out this form.
