About Raquel Chavez

Vice President

Fellow NIU Huskies,

My name is Raquel Chavez.  I am a Senior Political Science and Community Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) double major, Spanish and Latino & Latin American Studies double minor, and a Social Entrepreneurship certificate student.  I am also humbly and dutifully serving as the Vice President of the Northern Illinois University Student Association for the 2014-2015 school year. The reason I chose to get involved in NIU’s student government, and specifically the office of Vice President, was because I felt that all student s should have a direct avenue through which to get engaged and involved on campus, as well as experience all of the different opportunities that NIU has to offer. I strongly believe that my extensive knowledge of organizational involvement can be utilized in order to aid in the unification of the student body and to foster an environment that is conducive to collaboration of all sorts.

I look forward to working with any and all students, faculty, staff, and community members to better serve the interests of the student body, in hopes of creating a better NIU.  Click here to view my "Vice President's
