A message from Treasurer Brian Robinson:

Hello, Fellow Huskies!

My name is Brian Robinson, I am a senior accountancy major pursuing the 150 credit hours needed to satisfy the requirements to sit for the certified public accountant (CPA) exam. I transferred to Northern Illinois University in the fall of 2013 from Prairie State College and hit the ground running. During my tenure at NIU I have served in many capacities such as:

  • Vice-President, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Epsilon Phi Chapter
  • Treasurer, The Remember Project
  • Director of Orientation, Black Male Initiative
  • Peer Educator, Financial Cents
  • Senator, Student Association
  • Finance Committee, Student Association
  • Supplemental Instruction Leader, ACCY 206
  • Internal Firm Services (IFS) & Core Assurance Intern, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
  • Branch Manager, College Works Painting
  • VITA Site Manager, Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois
  • Public Relations Committee, Black Student Union

I am extremely humbled to be serving as your Treasurer for the 2016-2017 academic year, and 2017 fiscal year. I decided to get involved with the Student Association to give back to the students and NIU as a whole as I have certainly enjoyed my time as a student-leader.

Every full time fee-paying student at Northern Illinois is a member of the student body, and a percentage of those fees are directed to the Student Association to allow us to allocate funds to organizations on campus to assist them in their efforts of making the NIU experience as great as possible for our students. It is my duty to ensure these funds get allocated correctly and fairly to the organizations that are truly making NIU a better campus for the students to enjoy.

I am truly dedicated to serving the NIU students and I believe that transparency is a key aspect of my position and will be happy to answer any questions that students may have about funding, the budget process, or anything else for that matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me at with any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to a great year and to meeting many great students on the journey.

Go Huskies!
