Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Application Information
The REU application collects basic demographic and
background information, such as current GPA and number of credit hours earned.
This is also where students indicate research programs and mentor preferences.
If you're interested in applying to more than one research program, it's not necessary to complete an
application for each program. The online application allows applicants to rank
multiple programs. However, because of the competitive nature of the application
process, accepted students are usually offered a position by the program ranked
first. Research program rankings are important, so be sure to research the
programs before completing the online application.
If you discover a mistake after completing the online
application, please do not complete the application again. Instead, send an
email to firstname.lastname@example.org providing details on the correction needed and we'll
be happy to make the correction for you.
It's also important to know that all communication regarding the NIU Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program is sent to the email address provided on the
online application, so please use an email address you check frequently. If you
need to update your email address, email email@example.com with the old and new email
addresses and we'll update your file.
All application materials must be received by Friday, March 1, 2013 at 4:30 PM CST.
