Background: Ward came to the FM field in a non-traditional manner. While working as a military maintenance test pilot, his interest was sparked in systematically fixing things. Upon leaving active duty, Ward spent 1989-1996 working in university auxiliary support services at Northwestern University. He made the transition to a full-time FM role in 1996. Previous to Verizon, he held FM roles with Hewitt Associates LLC and Johnson Controls. Ward is a member of the Army Reserve and lives in Antioch, IL. He and his wife have four children.
Jerry DiCola, CFM, SFP, FMP and LEED Green Associate

Current Position: Facilities Manager with Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, a 175 intellectual property attorney law firm in Chicago
Background: Jerry’s job responsibilities include the oversight of 120,000-square-feet of leased space in the NBC Tower. In addition, he manages the law firm’s daily operations of office services, hospitality services, and maintenance and procurement services. Prior to joining the firm in 2004 as Facilities Manager, he had successful careers in human resources, sales and entrepreneurial. His varied work experience has provided the needed background to address and support the various responsibilities of his roles as FM. In November 2005, Jerry earned his Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) certification. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from DePaul University.
Patricia A. Moonier, FMP, CFM, SFP

Current Position: Manager, Contract Requirements, Argonne National Laboratory
Background: Patricia has 20 years of experience in the Facilities Management profession. She has been awarded for managing quality services, and for creating and implementing innovative solutions. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from DePaul University with a concentration for the latter degree program in facilities management. Patricia is a registered real estate broker in Illinois, and has been a member of IFMA since 1998.
Mark Sekula, CFM, SFP, FMP, LEED AP and IFMA FELLOW

Current Position: President of Facility Futures, Inc.
Background: Mark has over 36 years of facility management experience, and has served as a facilities management practitioner and as an FM consultant. He is a certified instructor of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and teaches classes in facility management nationally.
He founded the IFMA Facility Management Consultants Council and has served as an officer of the Southeast Wisconsin IFMA Chapter. In 2011, Mr. Sekula was bestowed the highest honor given by the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) when he was named an IFMA Fellow. Mr. Sekula also co-authored the recently published book titled, “The Facility Manager’s Field Guide” as well as having had over 25 articles published on facility management and business issues in a variety of professional journals.
Mr. Sekula holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning and a certificate from the Kellogg Management Institute-Management Certificate Program at Northwestern University
Christopher J. Tierney, CFM, FMP, LEED GA, SFP

Current Position: Owner, Blue Tiger Real Estate Companies LLC
Background: Chris is an educator, entrepreneur, and multifaceted SME with 19 years of facilities field, corporate and consultant experience. Over his career he has worked for some of the largest property management, hospitality and senior living companies in the US and abroad, starting as an onsite member and ending as the FM lead of a national portfolio spanning from Boston to Seattle. Believing that a holistic view is the preferred view our of profession, Chris holds over two dozen professional designations, licenses, certifications, and degrees within the industries of real estate, facility management, property management, construction project management and restoration. He currently instructs multiple educational programs in the facility management field and presents at various national industry conferences throughout the year.
