The Northern Illinois University Motorcycle Safety Project offers FREE motorcycle rider education courses at 11 locations throughout Northern Illinois. There is a $20 refundable deposit (plus $3 handling fee) required for pre-registration. Although a course may show that it is "SOLD OUT" we do take walk-in registrations in all of our courses. Please read about that process on the Registration page.

****(08/03) For this coming weekend there are 5 spots open at Highland Community College in Freeport, IL. Online registration for this class has been closed, but walk-ins are taken in all classes. Visit the Locations page or click the link above for a Google map that has training site and classroom location information.****

****(08/03) There are plenty of available seats open at many of our training sites for classes later this month, including this weekend (08/07-08/09) and next (08/13-08/15) and on into September and October. Don't miss out on these opportunities to learn to ride this year so you can start the 2016 riding season riding with your friends rather than waiting for your course!****

****(08/03) There are a good number of openings in the Advanced RiderCourse classes scheduled for August 28 and 29 at the College of Lake County. Please visit the Registration page to register for either of those dates. Don't miss out on the last opportunity this year to participate in a great learning experience which will further enhance your riding skills!****

****(06/22) The classroom sessions for classes scheduled at Jefferson High School (JHS) will meet in the portable office in back of the school. Enter the school at Bonanza Way from 35th St.****

****06/05/2015 - We are now able to accept a TVDL (Temporary Visitor's Driver's License) for entry into our courses.****

****As of 06/05/2015, the classroom location for classes at College of Lake County will be at the University Center of Lake County, rooms 131, 132, 133. The site marker on the Google map (linked above) reflects the new classroom location.****

Northern Illinois University, DeKalb - took 9 walk-ins, had room for 8 more students.

Highland Community College, Freeport - took 4 walk-in, had room for 3 more student.

McHenry County College, Crystal Lake - took 11 walk-ins, had room for 0 more students.

College of Lake County, Grayslake - took 13 walk-ins, had room for 2 more students.

Elgin Community College, Elgin - took 8 walk-ins (4 in the Thursday class, 4 in the Friday class), had room for 0 more students in the Thursday class and 0 in the Friday class.

Rock Valley College, Rockford - took 6 walk-ins, had room for 1 more students.

James A Lovell Healthcare Center, North Chicago - took 7 walk-ins, had room for 3 more students.

South Beloit high School, South Beloit - took 3 walk-ins, had room for 2 more student.

We had room for 19 more students this past weekend with 61 (41%) of our students being walk-ins. Why not take a chance to get into a course as a walk-in? Visit the Registration page for more information on the walk-in process.
