Email announcements are sent to NIU faculty, staff and students every Monday and feature program news and information, professional opportunities and alerts of upcoming events. To submit an annoucement for distribution to an internal audience (faculty, staff, current students) please submit a Clearinghouse Review and Mass Email Request Form.

Monday Announcement Guidelines

  • Announcements should be 200 words or less; Ones that are longer will be returned to the submitter for editing. Keep it brief. You should include hyperlinks to additional information posted on your website or your calendar.
  • Announcements are due by 4:30 p.m. Thursday of the week prior.
  • Events should be posted to the NIU calendar. Events that are posted to the NIU calendar by the Thursday prior will be included in Monday’s announcements email.
  • Announcements will not be repeated more than once. If you have specific dates in mind, please include them in the comments.

Submission Deadlines

The final employee and student announcements digests for the calendar year will be distributed via email Monday, December 11. The deadline for submitting notices, deadlines and events is 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7.

  • Employee announcements will resume on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. The deadline for that edition is Thursday, January 4, 2018.
  • Student announcements will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018. The deadline for inclusion of content in those announcements is Thursday, January 11, 2018.
