Press Release

Fall 2018 Application Opens September 1 for First-Year Applicants

September 1, 2017

After welcoming the class of 2020, one of the most accomplished and diverse classes in recent history, NIU College of Law is pleased to announce that its Fall 2018 application for full-time first-year and accelerated law degree applicants will open on Friday, September 1. The application for transfer applicants will open on Friday, September 15. Application review will commence in mid- to late-October.

Last application cycle, NIU Law received over 625 applications for approximately 100 seats in the fall 2017 entering class. With a priority deadline of April 1, 2018, NIU Law reviews applications on a rolling basis and will continue to review applications until classes begin. Early applications are most competitive for both admission and scholarship.

NIU Law requires that applicants have earned or will have earned before classes begin a bachelor's degree that has been awarded by an institution that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education, a valid Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score, and Law School Admission Council's Credential Assembly Service (CAS) registration. All traditional first-year applicants must have completed or be in the final year of their undergraduate degree programs.
