NIU Gmail

Access your NIU student email at webmail.students.niu.edu.

All enrolled students have an NIU email address and an email alias.

• Your NIU email address is: Z-ID@students.niu.edu
• Your email alias is typically: first initial last name@niu.edu
  (Note: If already in use it will be appended with a number)
  • Log in to look up and/or change your alias in the Online Directory

Check your NIU email regularly

Official university correspondence such as class schedules, Student Financial Aid notifications, and statements from the Bursar are sent to NIU student gmail accounts.

University systems such as Blackboard and NIU announcements send their messages to your NIU student gmail account also.
