NIU offers the following programs for graduate study in the area of statistics:
Master of Science in Statistics
Our degree program to complete a Master of Science in Statistics is designed to help students develop the skills necessary for immediate employment as statisticians or applied probabilists, or for more advanced study. Our master's degree program is unique for its emphasis on applied statistics and probability courses.
Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences
The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers a degree program to complete a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematical Sciences, with the option to complete a group of courses in probability and statistics (Group C). It prepares students for careers in academia as well as in industrial consulting and research.
