Specific Research Endeavors

I am an assistant professor within the Department of Geography and an associate of the Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability, and Energy.

My current research focuses on the role of energy in economic growth. In other recent research, I have assessed how geographic differences in corn yields impact the energy gains provided to the transportation system from production of corn ethanol within the United States. Earlier research included measuring how urbanization can increase urban air temperatures, and how these temperature increases can impact electricity consumption.
