Experience the life of a professional dancer!

Serious dancers hone existing talents and gain new skills in the creative world of dance. Enjoy daily classes in different styles of dance. The emphasis is on pre-professional training in classical ballet and modern dance. Other classes are jazz, contemporary, Pilates, yoga, repertoire, composition, and improvisation.

Campers dance an average of seven hours each day in this intensive and rewarding program. Faculty include NIU dance professors and guest instructors from the professional dance world. Counselors are students enrolled in the dance program at NIU. This camp is for those who are serious about their training and may wish to pursue further training in a university program or other professional training programs.

Evening recreational activities include a talent show, movie night, guest lectures, and a variety of workshops, including hair and make-up, acting, and costume design. The week culminates in an informal showing of work acomplished during the week to share with family and friends on Friday afternoon.

Campers audition on the first day and are placed in groups based on their experience. No preparation is needed for the audition.
