This year's clinician is KellyAnn Nelson!
KellyAnn Nelson is the associate artistic director for the Cincinnati Boychoir as well as the founder and artistic director of the Young Professionals’ Choral Collective of Cincinnati (YPCC). She is a sought-after choral music professional and has served as guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator and presenter at various National, All-State and Regional honors choir events, conferences and choral/vocal jazz workshops in Michigan, West Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, North Carolina, Connecticut, Minnesota, Kentucky and Indiana. She has enjoyed presenting on the topics of incorporating music literacy activities into the choral rehearsal and recruiting and retaining boys in choral programs (most recently at the Central Division ACDA conferences in 2014 and 2016, as well as the national Chorus America conference in 2012), as well as sharing ideas on young professional engagement in choral music at the World Choir Games and the 2014 Chorus America Conference in Washington, DC. YPCC (which took second place in their division at the aforementioned World Choir Games) was also the subject of a Chorus America feature article in May 2012 about innovation and engagement, as well as part of KellyAnn’s TedxCincinnati talk on the topic of transforming communities through participation in music.
At the end of the day all of the participating schools will work on and perform a piece together!
