ISO 14000 Standard
ISO stands for “International Organization for Standards” which is a network of national standards institutes of a number of countries that has developed a number of standards on various aspects of business and commerce that benefit consumers and society.
ISO 14000 is a series of standards that provide an internationally agreed upon guidelines on environmental management systems that organizations can follow to establish environmental policies, conduct environmental audit, label products and processes, analyze performance of the system, etc. The standards do not provide guidelines on what is and what is not acceptable, but offer tools and methods to implement environmental management systems.
