
Melissa Crone, Andrea Mendoza, Chris Herrera, Ariel Levitt, Christie Nagel
Our General Manager, Melissa Crone, is a Post Baccalaureate in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is looking forward to graduating in May and continuing on to a Dietetic Internship and Masters program, with the goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian focusing on Public Health and Community Nutrition. Melissa is looking forward to sharing her love of fall flavors with the guests of Ellington’s this semester.
Our Dinning Room Manager, Chris Herrera is currently pursuing a major in nutrition and dietetics at NIU. He wants to become a registered dietitian and presumptively pursue a master’s degree in the near future. He is currently employed at Olive Garden and enjoys what he does very much. His favorite hobby is working out and learning about different varieties of foods. He also loves to eat out at his favorite place, Chipotle.
Our Executive Chef, Ariel Levitt is a senior nutrition and dietetics major with a minor in biology. She enjoys learning about all aspects of nutrition, especially the science behind food and the human body. After graduating in May, Ariel plans on becoming a Registered Dietitian and hopes to combine her passion for nutrition with her love for the outdoors in her future career. She enjoys cooking healthy meals and experimenting with different ingredients. Ariel can’t wait to share the unique flavors and atmosphere of Harvest with her guests!
Our Sous Chef, Andrea Mendoza is a senior in the undergraduate program for Nutrition Science and Dietetics at Northern Illinois University. She is originally from Aurora Illinois but live sin Dekalb while she works on her degree. One day she would like to become a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator to help improve the health of Americans with proper nutrition.
Our Marketing Manager, Christie Nagel is currently a senior in the nutrition and dietetics program. As the president of Bread For The World NIU Chapter she enjoys volunteering her time to raise awareness of hunger. She will be graduating in May and later plans to obtain an internship focused primarily in medical nutrition therapy. Followed by her internship, she wants to become a registered dietician. Christie is thrilled to see Harvest flavors unravel at Ellington’s.
