Degrees
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers three degrees and one certificate program at regional locations:
Courses
Regional courses typically meet on evenings, weekends, or online to serve returning adult students at convenient times and locations. Visiting students from other colleges, non-degree students, and undeclared students, as well as NIU students from any program are welcome in regional Liberal Arts and Sciences courses.
Instructors
Help non-traditional students earn a degree through our Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) program by teaching a night, weekend, or online course. Our courses are offered at NIU-Rockford, NIU-Hoffman Estates, NIU-Naperville and at community colleges throughout Northern Illinois. If you are interested in expanding your horizons as well as those of our B.G.S. students:
- Fill out the Course Proposal and Preference Form and send it to your department chair for approval.
- Approved classes will be forwarded to us for scheduling.
- When scheduling is complete, we'll notify you and forward a contract for your signature.
- Please note that hiring is subject to course enrollment minima.
We look forward to working with you!
