Teri A. Schmidgall is a career counselor who helps undecided students with career decision making, and liberal arts majors with career exploration and searches for internships and jobs. She draws on her diverse knowledge of special student populations to provide a developmental and holistic approach to career counseling. Teri helps liberal arts majors in understanding their unique skill sets and how to work toward their eventual career goals. In addition, she specializes in counseling students interested in careers in social services, a topic near and dear to her heart.
Ms. Schmidgall began her career as a high school history teacher, mostly serving at-risk students in alternative-to-expulsion programs in Elgin, Illinois. She transitioned into adult education, serving as a Computer Instructor and Employment Specialist for three years. While completing her Master of Arts program in Community Counseling at Roosevelt University, she was employed as the Information Specialist at the Harper College Career Center. She is a nationally certified counselor.
