Color Guard & Silverettes

AUDITION INFORMATION:

The Silverettes, will have an additional audition date on Saturday, July 14th. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Auditions will be Saturday, April 28th, 2012 from 9 - 5 in the music building.  Auditions are a full day experience at NIU.  Please plan on attending for the entire day.

Color Guard: Please wear black dance or yoga pants, a form fitting black shirt, and athletic tennis shoes and socks (no sandals). Please make sure your hair is pulled back and off your face and bring a water bottle. It is not necessary to bring your own flag - we will provide you with one. You will review fundamental skills with our staff and learn a short routine as part of the audition process. For more information email Lori Valenzuela at lorivalenz@gmail.com.

Our summer clinic will be on Saturday, July 21st this year. 

Silverettes: wear dance attire and dance shoes to the audition.  You will demonstrate your grasp of fundamental dance skills and learn a short routine as part of the audition process. 

About the Color Guard

The Huskie Band Color Guard (Flags) is a select group of approximately 24 members. Previous flag corps experience is valuable, but not required for membership in this organization. Membership in the Color Guard is by audition only.

About the Silverettes

The Silverettes Dance Line is a highly talented group of women who perform feature routines in addition to marching during each Huskie Band show. Membership in the Silverettes is by audition only. Auditions are held in April.
