Academic Biography:
Q. Where is your study area located? Norway
Q. What is your focus of research? Dialects in Norway, specifically the one spoken in Bergen. The dialect spoken in Bergen is unique from the other dialects spoken in Norway. Bergensk has cultural connotations that are very different than other dialects and has been the cause of some friction over generations.
Q. Why did you choose NIU? The professors here were enthusiastic about my research topic and wanted to work with me. My research topic incorporates two fields, and luckily here at NIU I found two that are experienced in them.
Q. Who is your advisor? Dr. Thu. He has done research in Norway and is familiar with the culture.
Q. What advice would you like to share with incoming students? Talk to your professors! They can really open doors for you and spark new interests that could lead to something great!

- 2011: Organization of ICCAW. I help with media and press releases as well as the water monitoring project we just started.
