Tutoring is offered free to all undergraduate NIU students and is available for most 100, 200, 300 and 400 level courses. If you don't find your course listed in the search below, check your course syllabus or contact your instructor or professor during office hours.

ACCESS/PAL Tutoring

ACCESS/Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Tutoring Services offers both walk-in and/or appointment-based tutoring.

PAL Walk-in Tutoring Centers

Stop in an ACCESS/PAL Drop-In Tutoring Center to find on-the-spot-help for this course. No appointment needed. Just walk in. See the schedules below for specific dates and times.

PAL Tutoring by appointment

For regular, weekly PAL (Peer Assisted Learning) Tutoring, you can come to the ACCESS office in Williston 100 to fill out a Tutor Request Form and availability schedule.

ACCESS/Supplemental Instruction (SI)

ACCESS/Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an enhanced tutoring program that provides regular group tutoring designed to enhance student performance and academic achievement in the following historically difficult courses. SI leaders attend the targeted course with their students to model and promote learning strategies and study skills.

Mathematics Assistance Center

The Mathematics Assistance Center offers two FREE tutoring services: the Calculus Tutoring Center and the Open MAC. The Calculus Tutoring Center provides help to students in Math courses 211, 229, 230, 232; the Open MAC offers tutoring for courses Math 101 and 210.

The College of Engineering & Engineering Technology provides free tutoring on a walk-in basis to all engineering and engineering technology students.
